Already qualifying for the 2013 Masters Reebok CrossFit World Games, Cheryl ruptured her Achilles tendon while competing to take 1st place overall at the North West CrossFit Regional in the open division.  Following a remarkable 9 month recovery, Cheryl finished 2nd in the world in the 40-44 Masters Division at the 2014 Games and a 4th place finish in the 40-44 Masters Division at the 2015 Games.  Determined to be her best, she battled to the top of the podium placing 1st in the world in the 45-49 Masters Division at both the 2016 and 2017 Games.  Backing out of the 2018 Games due to reconstructive shoulder surgery, Cheryl finished 7th in the world in the Master Division at the 2019 Games.  There were no Master Games during the 2020 Covid season and a hip injury forced Cheryl to withdraw from the 2021 Games.  In 2022 Cheryl just missed the 50-54 Master Division podium by placing 4th in the world, amongst a fierce field of competition.  Cheryl earned the title "Fittest 50-54 year old Woman in the Word.
